ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-America honors has been awarded by the College Sports Information Directors of America to Midwestern State’s senior Lauren Craig. Lauren is a psychology major with a 4.00 grade point average, as well as the primary catcher for the Mustangs softball team.

Lauren was also named the Lone Star Conference North Player of the Year and the Lone Star Conference North Academic Player of the Year for 2010. It is the first time in conference history a player has earned both honors.

Lauren has 49 RBIs including an 8-game stretch where brought in at least one run each game. She has 5 homeruns and .348 batting average. She started 56 of the teams 64 games at catcher. She stands to have an impressive career if she continues with softball.
