The Sacramento State women’s rugby team went undefeated in division II last year and as a result have been moved to division I. This move wouldn’t be as bit of a deal if the team didn’t lose half of its players and both coaches. Regardless the team has recovered in numbers and has already won their first scrimmage.
One of the star players found herself on the rugby pitch quite by accident. Seeing a flier for recruitment, for what she thought was lacrosse, she attended the try-out and never looked back.
