For the first time in Kings College school history, 14 college women will end their winter break early to return for wrestling practice. There are only thirteen schools in the Women’s College Wrestling Association, with Kings College making number 13. Because of the limited competition, the schools are forced to travel much further and more often then the men’s teams. Slowly but surely, women’s wrestling is gaining interest and momentum and participants.

The diffference between the women’s and men’s team practices start and finish with the style of wrestling used. The women compete in the internationally used freestyle, while the men compete in collegiate or ‘folkstyle.’ Both teams train twice a day, with 100% effort in challenging drills and match training.
