MMA professional, Stephanie Frausto, wasn’t always athletic like her sister Zoila Frausto who an undefeated MMA fighter. Stephanie told press:
“When I was younger I had a weight problem. I was a pretty chunky kid,” Frausto stated. “I never realized I was chubby until this one kid on the bus called me fat and stuff. The image of myself changed. I asked my sister for help, and she said, ‘Why don’t you do cross country?’ I said, ‘You’re crazy! I can’t even run a block without stopping.’”
She did give cross country a try, and did well before following her sister into boxing where she also excelled. It was her first experience with competition, and when that first punch that bled red, she was hooked and needed more. The sisters crossed over to MMA, where Stephanie has spent time improving her ground game and it showed this past weekend in her pro debut.
Sunday at Warriors Cage 6, Primitive Rage, Stephanie met Erica Madrid for each fighters pro-debut. The first 2:42 minutes of the first round was full of action, but all the action ended with Stephanie earning her first pro TKO.
