Jennie Finch, 2004 Olympic gold medalist, announced that she is planning to retire next month. Her retirement will bring an end to a successful 10-year career. Jennie helped popularize the sport in the United States. She isn’t just a talented pitcher, she a is beautiful outgoing ambassador for women’s sports.

Jennie is 6-foot-2 and began her career at Arizona before becoming an icon with the U.S. team. She went 32-0 her junior year and was a part of 60 consecutive wins — both NCAA records. This month, is helping the U.S. in its seventh straight world championship win.

“This whole career has been way more than I ever even imagined or dreamed,” Jennie said in an interview. “The opportunities that I’d be able to enjoy and appreciate and be a part of, it’s been incredible.”
