Canadian champion boxer Stephanie Walker, 19-years-old, is fighting tooth and nail to maintain her spot on the national team. Her position is being sought after by three other athletes. So far Stephanie has beat Quebec’s Marie-Eve Bali.
“It went about as planned — pretty smoothly,” Stephanie told press after the fight. “It was tougher than the last time I fought her, but it went how we wanted it to go.”
Whether Stephanie will go to the women’s world championships in Barbados, this October, will be determined this week. Tomorrow she will have to fight Debbie Richards, a former national team fighter before she determines her spot.
