Gender Drama: Tennis Player Sarah Gronert
News — By Patricia on March 20, 2009 at 9:20 pm22 year old German tennis player Sarah Gronert has stirred up some controversy due to her gender; she was born with both male and female genitalia, but after undergoing surgery to remove her male genitalia, she’s medically certified as female.
Having won two of the nine tournaments she’s entered in the last three years, Sarah Gronert is poised to possibly become one of the top female tennis stars. But many feel she has an unfair advantage due to her genetic condition, even her coach commenting how she doesn’t serve like a woman.
Gender controversy in sports is nothing new. Renee Richards is a former pro tennis player who had a sex change operation, numerous complaints have surfaced about transexual cyclist Michelle Dumaresq and there have been at least seven cases of Olympic gender benders incidents.

its a dammed shame she had that surgery. she could have fucked her/himself!!!!!!!!!!
No need to be vulgar. She looks like a girl to me. The powers that be require athletes participating in the Olympic Games to carry a “gender card.” It’s the thing you’re required to show that makes you “medically certified as female.”
I remember the one time I met Suzy Favor Hamilton. It was the day after she made the 1996 Olympic Team and some official asked her if she had her gender card. I asked her “what’s a gender card?” She looked at me and said “to prove I”m a woman.” All I could think was “you, of all people, need proof of that?,” but what I actually said was “oh.”
I always feel bad for people like that, I mean she was born that way? Not her fault at all.
excuse the vulgarity. i don’t know what came over me. (had sex with her/himself)
