Justine Henin’s comeback streak stopped abruptly in the third set of the Australian Open. Serena Willimas, 28-years-old, defended her title at the Australian Open giving her ha 5-0 record for the tournament (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010) and becoming the first women to defend her title since Jennifer Capriati (2001-02).
This victory gave Serena her 36th career title. She and her sister, Venus, won the doubles championship, beating the No. 1 ranked duo of Zimbabwe’s Cara Black and American Liezel Huber. They have won five of the last seven Grand Slam doubles titles.
