Snowboarder Kevin Pearce was upgraded from critical to serious Wednesday after a serious head injury during practice, the same day his teammates headed to the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix. With a fallen friend in the back of their mind, the didn’t hold back, in fact ABC reports: “Kelly Clark and Danny Davis won Wednesday by pushing the envelope of their sport.”
Kelly Clark secured her spot on the American Olympic half-pipe team with an impressive run and daring tricks. She told press, “Every Olympic year there is a push on the progression side of things and we’re witnessing them at these events,” Clark said. “The guys doing them are the most capable snowboarders in the world, and they are very well-trained and very well-prepared. The sport will keep progressing, and I think we are going to keep seeing more and more difficult tricks.”
