Heather Richardson, 20-years-old, was hoping to qualify for one Olympic event not too long ago. But the former inline speed-skater, now finds herself going to Vancouver for three events, still speedskating, but on ice. Heather, from High Point, N.C., had already qualified to be on the U.S. team for the 500 meters and 1,000. She never had any pressure in the 1,500, and relaxed, she came out on top skating better than she could have imagined. This will be Heathers first trip to the Olympics and her excitement is obvious, “I’ve never skated that fast in the first lap of a 1,500, I was like. ‘Oh! I’m on a good one. Try to keep it up!”‘ That she did…We look forward to her energy and speed in February.
