Gemma Stanley, fitness instructor at Pontefract Squash and Leisure Club, represented the United Kingdom in the International Federation of Bodybuilding Amateur Olympia competition at Liverpool Echo Arena.
Gemma was placed second in the bikini fitness category.
It was the first time the competition had been held in the UK and it attracted athletes from 38 countries.
Gemma’s rise to fame has been remarkable.
She won the Stars of Tomorrow competition in July, the North East Championship in August and then came fifth in the British Championships before capping all that with her performance in Liverpool.
