WICHITA, Kansas – One of the top female pole vaulters in Wichita State history isn’t slowing down after college. Monique Terry’s redirected her competitive dominance to bodybuilding.
The former Excercise-Science major is getting set to compete in her first national bodybuilding show later this month in Chicago. She’s already won several tournaments leading up to the event including
the NPC Midwest Bodybuilding Championships in St. Louis and the NPC Bodybuilding Battle in Tulsa, OK.
In her inaugural competition, Terry won all three of her Novice divisions at the NPC Bodybuilding open call in Kansas, City, MO.
Known by some as Wonder Woman, the Andover H.S. grad spoke to KSN about life after pole vaulting for the Shockers. She said, “People kept telling me, you should try it, you’d be really good at it. I did my first competition and fell in love with it.”
Terry is on a quest to eventually turn pro. She currently works as a personal trainer.
