Elena Dementieva, 28-years-old, came into the Malaysian Open as a first seed and has been crushing her competition. Wednesday, she walked over Serbian Bojana Jovanovski, taking the set in 71 minutes, 6-2, 6-3, while other matches lasted three hours. Elena’s predicted win of the tournament has been elevated with the second seed, China’s Li Na, loss and exit from the tournament. Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova, Australia’s Anastasia Rodionova and Japan’s Ayumi Morita have also advanced to the quarter finals.
Elena, 5’11”, is striking on and off the court, but to her credit she is just as talented as she is beautiful.
