The next fight in Strikeforce’s prospects-driven “Challengers” series looks to be Strikeforce women’s welterweight champion Sarah Kaufman (11-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) against fellow 135-pounder Roxanne Modafferi (15-5 MMA, 0-1 SF). Roxanne just fought in a battle against Tara LaRosa and won hands down. It will be interesting to see if she has the same dominating power against Sarah Kaufman (pictured above). This would be Roxanne’s second time fighting for Strikeforce. The first time she was a replacement fighter for Erin Toughill and moved up a weight class and ended up losing in a first round submission to Marloes Coenen.
This would be Sarah’s fourth straight Challengers appearance, and she has not fought since her unanimous-decision win over Takayo Hashi in February which earner her the first-ever Strikeforce women’s welterweight belt and extended her undefeated streak to 11 fights. The first 8 were by knockout and the last three (all in Strikeforce) were by decision.
