sharavigeant

Shara Vigeant loved to party. By her own admission, Shara states that the only workout she truly enjoyed was “the bending of the elbow.”

After her first year of college, and after adding the freshman 15, Shara joined a gym. She began a weight training and cardio program, and found she loved to exercise. But dieting was another story.

In 1999, Shara met Erin Winters and Jay Hutton. They taught her about proper training and nutrition. In 2000, Shara witnessed Erin Winters compete in the Alberta Bodybuilding Championships.

“As soon as I saw her on stage I said to myself – I MUST TRY THIS!”

Making the decision to compete, Shara never looked back. She focused on a diet of chicken, tuna, rice, oatmeal and protein shakes. In 2001, Shara hit the stage at Muscle Beach for her first competition.

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger said it best: “You have to make a decision what you want to be in life. If you want to be something special then you have to sacrifice a lot. I get the most satisfaction out of things not everybody experiences . . .” I think this has a lot to do with being something special and not being one of the masses. This is why I like bodybuilding. Bodybuilding makes me special, individual.

The most important thing that I have learned from doing Muscle Beach, as I said before, is that I can achieve anything! All I say is – BRING IT ON.
