Amy Sibcy earned her pro-card at the 2011 Masters Nationals and plans on competing in the pro ranks in 2012. She did her first show in 2004, winning the overall in The Cincinnati championships and later that same year the overall in the Ohio State championships. She has been competing at the National level ever since.

With the the prospect of competing at the pro level in 2012, Amy has her sights set on 2 shows, the Chicago and Tampa Pro’s. We asked Amy if there was anything different she would be doing going into her first pro show. The first thing she mentioned is not having to make weight, which she is looking forward to. Amy is about 5’1 and will be about 150 to 155 off season, even at that weight she still shows some abs. Her goal in the off-season is to keep working on her back development, which includes the basic movements; pull-up and rack-pulls. On rack- pulls she usually works up to about 315lbs for 10 to 12 reps and on pull-ups 10 sets or so, she normally uses some extra weight for most of the sets.

If you haven’t noticed, Amy has some of the sexiest and most muscular legs in the sport. She receives 3 or 4 emails a month asking a leg question; training, measurements etc. She said she does not do anything special as far as training legs, but does try to mix it up and keep each leg training session a little different. When it get close to contest time, she has trained legs up to 3 times a week for very high reps. Sometimes she has jokingly thought, that her legs grow just by looking at the squat rack. That is not always a good thing. “My legs have always somewhat over powered my upper body, so that’s one reason I am working hard on my back and shoulder development.”

In the off-season she tries to get in 2 back sessions a week and it has help her back development. With added muscular size in her upper body, her mind-blowing legs, and the freaky vascularity she always brings to the stage, Amy will definitely be noticed by the pro judges.

Outside the gym Amy owns and manages 75 rental units along with some personal training she does. She did mention that she finally joined Facebook and has a Athlete page which she plans on posting updates and photos of her journey into her first pro show, so people can follow along. Amy also has a website AmySibcy.com and there she said there will be photos and video in her members section that you won’t see on other sites of her progress in various scenarios. She said she appreciates the feedback from her members, it helps give me ideas for future photo and video shoots.
