Vicki Eaglefield

Vicki Eaglefield, health and fitness membership adviser at Branston Golf and Country Club, is now a world record breaker.

She broke three International All Round Weightlifting Association (IAWA) world records at the 28th World Championship held in Glasgow and is now training for next year’s event in America.

Her strength and conditioning work at Branston Club’s gym is under the watchful eye of Simon Wheatcroft, Branston’s gym manager.

Previously she had shed nearly seven stone in weight, enabling her to start her career in the fitness industry at Branston Club.

Attracted by Burton’s Powerhouse Weightlifting Club, that holds its annual Hall of Fame awards dinner at Branston Club, Vicki added their specialist training programme to her Branston gym fitness regime.

And after only two months she competed against 37 others from countries such as America, Finland, Ireland and the UK at the IAWA World Championships in Glasgow.

She said: “I’ve come home from Glasgow as the Women’s Open 90kg IAWA World Champion 2015 having achieved three world records by setting a new world record in the One Armed Zercher at 60kg, beating two existing records that had been held for over five years in the Two Handed Barbell and Dumbbell Anyhow with a combined weight of 35kg, and the Straddle Deadlift at 130kg.

“I’ll be attempting yet another world record for the Two Handed Deadlift at this year’s Hall of Fame dinner at Branston Club.”
