Toowamba woman Teanna Born was crowned Miss World at a recent international body building competition.
She flew to South Africa to compete in the WFF World Championships after taking out the state and national title.
Competing in the Sports Model category she was up against 20 other beauties from around the globe.
Ms Born won the junior division Sports Model title which awarded her, her pro card and put her into the Pro Show.
Ms Born went on to impress the judges and was named Miss World.
She said she was still in complete shock.
“I can’t believe it, it’s absolutely nuts,” she said.
“Winning the Australian title hasn’t sunk in, let alone the world title and getting my pro card.”
It was a year ago that Ms Born decided to enter her first bodybuilding competition.
She has spent the past 26 weeks preparing herself for the competition with the help of her training coach Kristian Porthill.
“I always wanted to compete but I never thought I could do it,” she said.
“I never thought I could stick to a diet and put in all the hard work but here I am.”
After winning her Australian title she was the victim of cyber bullying when she started a Go Fund Me account to help get her to the World Championships.
“A few weeks back I went through a bit of drama with bullying and was getting attacked online by so many people because they didn’t like the idea of my account,” she said.
“It’s good to finally have victory.
“It’s been an amazing experience and I don’t regret a thing.
“The support from friends and family has been amazing.”
Being awarded her pro card means Ms Born can’t compete in just any bodybuilding competition, instead she is now able to compete in the WFF Pro Shows.
Ms Born is aiming to be at the WFF Universe Championships in Miami in June next year.
