New Hampshire’s Debbie Banaian traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia, for the 37th WAF World Armwrestling Championships and showed plenty of Granite State strength. Banaian, who teaches at Merrimack Valley Middle School, finished fourth in the Master Women 60-kilogram left-handed category and fifth in the Master Women 60-kg right.
The 51-year-old also finished seventh in the Senior Women (open to all ages) 60 kg-left and was eliminated from that bracket by Slovakia’s Lucia Debnarova, who went on to win the 60-kg left crown.
