2007 was the first year that the Arnold added an amateur event to the program, and the first ever Arnold Amatuer Figure Overall Champion was Kara Flowers. Kara was thirty years old, is 5’1″ and won Class A before winning the overall.
The 2008 Arnold Amatuer Figure Overall winner was Candace Houston. Candace had previously won the Masters Class of the 2007 IFBB North Americans. She is 5’2″ and competes at around 112lbs.
