Paralyzed when she was 17 in a car accident in which her boyfriend was driving while under the influence, she turned to weight training to help strengthen her body and soon moved onto the stage.
Showing an endearing level of support, her father was so confident in her bodybuilding abilities he once changed a congratulations banner he made for one of her wins into the date of the following year. The following year when she did repeat as champion, the first thing Pasqualena told her family when she called with the news was “Tell Daddy to hang the banners.”
Pasqualena was one of my all time favorite female bodybuilders, and one to me who defined the term champion with her life a testament to what faith can achieve.
