Christyn May, 34-years-old, made a decision January 1st. She set out to compete in the 2010 Mr.-Ms. Natural Minnesota Bodybuilding Figure and X-treme Fit Invitational. For five months, the Minnesota Duluth assistant volleyball coach adapted her already rigorous workout regime to mold into a competitive bodybuilder.

“I made some simple, subtle changes to my daily routine, most of which involved my diet, and continued to concentrate on many things that I’ve never stopped since college,” Christyn told reporters. “I’ve always lifted weights and paid attention to core strength and flexibility.”

She put her foot to the pavement and pushed herself hard. The result was winning her division. She was trilled, and she has the bug.

“It was my ultimate goal for five months and I loved the experience. I wanted to do this before turning 35, and my feeling is that I’ll want to do it again next year,” she said.
