Jeannine Garside, 32-years-old, can make history July 3rd. She will be fighting fellow featherweight boxer Ina Menzer, 29-years-old, in Germany. These two women possess all world boxing organization titles in the featherweight division, however it is Ina who holds the titles up for grabs in the upcoming fight. If Jeannine can win this fight she will hold five titles, something that has never been held by anyone before. However, it will not be an easy fight; Ina has a perfect 26-0 record with 10 knockouts
“It’s a dream come true for me,’’ Jeannine said in an interview. “I’ve been wanting to fight with her for a very long time. I told Wally [her corner man], the only fight I want is the girl in Germany. She’s been holding the title [International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Council] for two or three years now. This will be the toughest fight of my career. She is skilled and she’s got a lot to prove.’’
It will certainly be Jeannine’s toughest fight, but Ina has her work cut out for her too! Both women are said to be training like it is their last fight.
