Guylaine Dumont, 42-years-old, is a retired Canadian volleyball legend, but she is looking to change that. She is coming out of retirement and has her sights set on the 2012 Olympics. She will be will teaming up with Marie-Christine Mondo who is 24-years-old. The team will begin play in June.
“Marie-Christine is one of the most talented athletes I have seen in beach volleyball,” Guylaine said in a release. “She is physically very strong and has all the tools to be a solid player at the international level.”
Guylaine played in the 2004 Olympics beach volleyball and placed fifth with Annie Martin. Until 2001, she was an indoor player. The switch served her well, and may take her to another Olympic performance.
