Allison Stokke, who just turned 21-years-old this week, has been vaulted into fame through the Internet. She is an excellent pole vaulter from California, but after pictures of her from a track meet were posted on the Internet, it was no longer her vaults that were getting attention. As a high school student, she was highly recruited by university’s for her athletic ability and settled on the University of California at Berkeley. She has been cast as the hottest athlete of 2010 by several polls.

Freshman (2008): Posted a mark of 13-5.75 (4.11m) at the Pac-10 Championships, which is a Cal freshman record…provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships, as she set a then-PR of 13-1.00 (3.99m) at the MPSF Indoor Championships; this mark also set the school indoor (along with teammate Katie Morgan’s mark the same day) and the freshman record…ranked No. 20 in the nation.
High School: At Newport Harbor High School, broke the country record in her senior season with a mark of 13-7…also ranked second in California and second in the nation that year with that jump…during her junior year, made the Orange Country Register newspaper’s “All-County Track Team”…three-time Seaview league champion…first place in the CIF Division II finals with a mark of 13-0…took second place in the CIF state finals (12-9), earning the second-place finish after recovering from a broken leg…as a sophomore, broke the county and meet records and tied the sophomore national record with her jump of 13-4, and a few days later, broke all three of those records with a mark of 13-5.75…took first at the Orange County Championships (13-0), and was named Female Athlete of the Meet…selected to USA Today’s “All-USA Track Team, Girl’s Team”…named one of the Los Angeles Times’ “Top Performers”…achieved the age 15 national record (13-4), the age 16 national record (13-5.75) and the indoor sophomore national record (12-9)…in her freshman year, broke the school record four times…CIF state champion (12-8)…set the freshman national record with a mark of 12-8…named to the Los Angeles Times’ all-star girl’s track team…a verizona junior All-American…won the Newport Harbor High School Academic Excellence Award…NHHS academic letter and pin…made the national honor society and the California Scholarship Federation.
Personal: Born March 22, 1989, in Newport Beach, Calif….parents are Allan and Cindy Stokke…has two brothers…brother, David, graduated from Cal in 1990…participated in competitive gymnastics for 10 years…made the U.S. youth team to compete in the 2005 World Youth Championships, but couldn’t compete due to an broken leg…undeclared major.
