Pahang’s Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim, 19-years-old, claimed the gold medal in the 10m air rifle event in the Selangor Championships, which was also her debut as an elite shooter.

“I had so many distractions after my failure in my first SEA Games in Laos (last December) but stayed composed here to lead all the way to win my first gold as an elite athlete. This is a good start for me,” she told press. “I am now in the special project squad gearing up for the Commonwealth Games (in New Delhi in October). I cannot afford to be lazy or take my place for granted. I vow to work even harder than before.”

Her next competition will be the World Police Championships in Kuwait later this month (Feb 15-22).
