Miu Hirano, 9-years-old, has just set the record for the youngest player to qualify and play in the Japanese table tennis championships. She is only 137 centimeters tall, and can barley see over the table, but her natural ability is that of an adult. She did not make it far in the tournament, but has set a record and the bar for next year. She told press, “I wasn’t glued to the edge of the table. I was able to play adult table tennis.” A 9-year-old who has qualified in any adult national championship is a winner and role model in my book!
You can witness this little girls talents here…she is the short one, the really short one.
