VanderBeek

They say bad things come in three’s, but Kelly VanderBeek is the fourth skier on the Canadian ski team to lose their Olympic dream to an injury this month and the third this week. Does that mean the counter re-sets on Monday’s? Kelly, 26-years-old, tore her acl during a fall at the World Cup race in Val d’Isère, France earlier today.

CBCSPORTS.ca reported, “Coaches who watched video of the fall said VanderBeek got back on her skis when hitting some ripples on the snow. Her right ski got caught, but she got it back down on the snow. Then the ski caught again and got twisted, causing the fall.

Representatives have said that the team still wants to race, but with the increasing number of injuries, professionals are going to evaluate the situation to ensure the athletes health going into the Vancouver Olympics.
