Time flies when you’re having fun…but there was no fun involved when it came to the early days of figure competitions and the 1 piece suit judging round. Good (insert the name of your favorite deity here), not only did it add to the expense of competing for the women, it created a backstage fiasco as competitors hurried to change suits, touch up their hair and makeup and step back on stage for the 2 piece round.
What exactly was the point of the 1 piece suit anyways? It head a very important part of a woman’s physique; her abs. It was always interesting to see scoresheets where a competitor would score high in the 1 piece round and poorly in the 2 piece. Ladies and gentleman, you can’t hide your pudgy belly in a 2 piece. Enough said.
Thank (insert the name of your favorite deity here again) that the 1 piece round is gone. Did it shorten the length of the shows? No, not 1 bit. Why you ask? We still have the diva’s….errrr I mean the men’s physique competitors to deal with.
