Growing up in Mt. Shasta, Ca, Erica had limited access to the activities of kids growing up in larger cities. Her love of athletics and strength sports stems from her father, who was a local sports legend in Mt. Shasta. Seeing the athletic potential in Erica and her twin sister, he started them off at a young age with the values of pride, leadership as well as mental and physical strength.

By the age of 12, after seeing and hearing about Erica’s physical abilities in gymnastics and competitive horseplay at school, her father threw Erica into the gym. With images of Xena Warrior Princess and Spartan athletes running through her head, Erica hit the gym full force and hasn’t looked back since. A track star in 7th grade, Erica competed at a varsity level with short sprints being her strongest events. She continued with gymnastics but added martial arts and dance to the mix.

During her freshman year, a door was opened and Erica joined the co-ed wrestling team. Being only 1 of 2 girls on the team, Erica made her mark, making a few boys cry. Her tenacity and heart earned her the nickname “Spitfire” which she still carries today.

Erica continued to pursue life as a physical adventure and challenge. In 2009 she entered the fire academy and despite her 5’1 stature, and the scrutiny of fellow fire”men”…Erica graduated number 1 in the class for physical agility and second academically. She had made her mark on the fire service and became a seasonal firefighter. She solidified her position as a full time firefighter by earning her Paramedic status and the respect of her Chiefs and Captains.

In 2011 Erica discovered her love for figure and fitness, an athletic event she had always dreamed of doing but had previously lacked support with. Set the Pacific Northwest on fire, Erica has won her Figure classes at the prestigious Emerald Cup, won the Figure overall at the 7 Feathers Championship and placed 3rd in Physique at the Emerald Cup. In June 2013, Erica won her class and the Overall Physique title at the NPC Jr. Nationals and was awarded her IFBB Pro card.

We look forward to many great things from this “Spitfire” of a competitor. Best wishes Erica, as you continue to dominate in all that you do!
