Well, have no fear, there are five Latina fitness trainers who are at the ready to offer inspiration, motivation, and a whole lot of heart.
Michelle Lewin
Michelle Lewin is the Venzuelean model turned social media fitness icon. Lewin’s instagram is chock full of quick video simple exercises. In fact, most of her Insta page is instructional videos as opposed to just video. The best part? Like the rest of us in isolation over the past year, Lewin’s how-to workouts are all done at home. If that’s not enough to inspire and get you off the couch, she alters her videos between English and Spanish.
Massy Arias
Massy Arias is a Dominican Republic-born certified personal trainer. That sentence alone does this Latina little justice. Massy has circuit workouts, healthy meals, adorable mom-daughter pictures and more in both English and Spanish on her profile. Celebrity followers to her Insta include Gina Rodriguez, Issa Rae, and Kevin Hart.
Melissa Alcantara
Melissa Alcantara is best known as Kim Kardashian’s trainer. Yes, one of the most recognized backsides on the planet is courtesy of a Latina. This Dominican was a bonafide bodybuilder before moving from the Bronx to L.A. Her page has workouts, recipes, and some impressive before and after pictures.
Robin Arzón
Robin Arzón rode her way to social media influence by accomplishing a lot. Born to a Cuban refugee and a Puerto Rican father, she attended law school, ran 26 marathons, wrote a workout book, became the VP/Head of instruction at Peloton, and gave birth days ago (March 2021) to a daughter.
On her page you can see workouts that are pregnancy friendly (she took some heat for working out while pregnant) and we bet after baby workouts are on the way.
Karol Priscilla
Karol Priscilla may just have the best description on her Insta of any fitness trainer: “Barbells, bikinis, & burritos are my life.” We can agree on the burritos. But if you want more barbells and bikinis in your life, check out this Mexicana’s page. You will find instructional workouts (with and without barbells), a lot of bikinis, but not a lot of burritos–though we did spot a couple of burgers.
