Marina Cornwall is a fierce natural bodybuilder with out the big stats. She is just 5 feet tall and at show time weights a mere 93 pounds. However, her small frame has brought her a 5th place finish in the Pro WNBF World Natural Bodybuilding Championships. Her next show is the Pro WNBF Championships in New York on November 14, 2009.
Before she got started on in bodybuilding in 2001, she competed in UltraFit competitions and came close to being one of the original Gladiators in the 1990s.
“I trained really hard to become a Gladiator against 3000 contenders and I made it to the final 200,” says Marina. “I remember being really scared when I turned up for the time trials, the girls were just massive compared to me. I wanted to run away. But I made it through the time trials, the monkey bars and the rope climb. Although these girls were big they were not so fast on their feet or as agile. But when it came to the pugel sticks I didn’t make it through – I was told I wasn’t aggressive enough!”
