Captain Lou Albano passed away these week from natural causes at the age 0f 76. Though Captain Lou was known for many things, some of his most memorable moments came when interacting with Cyndi Lauper.
“Loopy” Lauper, as Captain Lou liked to call her, reflects on the impact that the wrestling legend had upon her music career:
“(He took me up the charts)…from 10, to 5, to 4 to 1, to minus 5 and back up to 1 again.”
Captain Lou’s friendship with Loopy Lauper transcended wrestling. The Captain appeared as Cyndi’s father in the 1983 video for Girls Just Want to Have Fun. They also worked together on several other projects.
