Gym 66 competitor Talbot, who weighed in at 66.3kg, lifted a total of 162kg to take top spot in the Under 69kg class at Warley’s Harry Mitchell Leisure Centre.

The Cheltenham athlete and Olympic hopeful, trained by Sam Kennedy snatched 65kg and a competition personal best of 70kg before missing 75kg.

She then clean and jerked 85kg to secure qualification for the British Championships next year, going on to top that with a personal best equalling clean of 92kg. Talbot has added 10kg to her total over the past year.

That was enough to secure her place at the British Championships in July.

She first competed in November 2014 and has already added 15kg to her total.
