For 14-year-old Shae Zamardi, her dream is all about making the Olympics. Growing up, she wanted nothing more than to be in gymnastics, and finally at 8-years-old (odd thinking that is old huh?) her parents caved in, enrolled her, and they never looked back. In fact, the only thing that has slowed her down has been injury and illness.

Yet, neither has dimmed her hope or her work ethic. At the Elite Canada women’s gymnastics championships, she won bronze on the bars and finished fourth overall. And now, she is qualified as a “high-performance athlete” and looks to international competitions with the hopes of “being noticed by national team decision-makers.”

Her life is consumed with her dream. She even has moved in with another gymnast and her family to train in a more focused gym. She is home schooled so she can save time and focus her day on her training, which is generally 5-hours.

She told reporters, “I have to do really good things this year, and hopefully get put on the [national] team. I just have to make sure I don’t get injured.”

This is a video from her performance, a fall at the end of her routine keep her from more podium appearances, but her talent is obvious and her dream is real.
