Southlander Jenna McKenzie, 17-years-old, broke three national records at the New Zealand smallbore rifle shooting championships this week. Jenna, who competed in the junior class set records in the junior air two-day event, shooting 778 out of a possible 800; the junior 3P, shooting 570 out of 600; and the junior air, shooting 388 out of 400. The latter record has been untouched for 14 years. While it wasn’t a new record, Jenna also won the open women’s air with a score of 391 out of 400.
Jenna is now focusing on getting ready for the World Cup in Australia and Youth Olympics in Singapore later this year.
