The 27th annual Bronxboro Arm-Wrestling Championships had a wonderful turn out. There were 65 pros and amateurs lined up to be named the best, but there was no one quite like Cynthia Yerby, 58-year-old, 10-time women’s world champion! By the end of the day, she was crowned Queen of Arms.
This was not the first time either. She has won the Queen of Arms title seven times, been named U.S. national champ 11 times and has pinned competitors in 31 different state competitions. She told Asylum.com, after winning her first seven world championships with her right arm, she switched to leftie…because she was bored.
“Guys are always asking if they can arm-wrestle me,” Cynthia told reporters. “One guy was 6-foot-6. I said, ‘OK, but let’s do it for $300.’ He said, ‘Three hundred dollars?!’ But he agreed, and then I beat him out of $300.”
