Sasha Cohen, 25-years-old, hasn’t competed in an official figure skating competition since the 2006 Olympics where she took silver, but that is about to change. Or at least, that is supposed to change. She has announced that she will be at the United States’ national championships next week. The competition serves as the 2010 Olympic trials for the U.S. which is what Sasha hopes to take away from the event, along with medal of course.

Sasha has plenty of skeptics wondering if she will actually show up. Last year, twice, she pulled out of competitions at the last minute. It will be interesting to see if she can pull a comeback in a sport that doesn’t offer many successful comeback stories.

“Of course, I’m nervous about coming back because I’m finally putting myself out there for everyone to see,” Sasha recently told press. “But if I skate the way I do in practice, I am confident that I will make the (Olympic) team.”
