Novia Nuraini, 19-years-old, has been on the Indonesian national archery team since 2005. Her desire to finish first at an international event has finally come to fruition. At the Southeast Asian Games, this past Tuesday, Novia secured her gold medal as she won the women’s 70-meter individual recurve competition.
“I’ve been dreaming about this moment for so long and now it’s coming true,” Novia said after the medal presentation. “I knew I could qualify for the final, but I never thought that I could win it. This is my first gold and I’m so excited.”
I think at her level it is less of hitting a bull’s eye and more like a humming bird’s.
