Joseline Cheah missed a target in last run costing Malaysia gold in the Laos Games yesterday. Protests to verify the score were disregarded and the trio (Joseline, Bibiana Ng and Siti Nur Masitah Abdul Badrin) who openly claimed to be the best, were demoted to bronze.
The team manager Datuk Musa Omar, who approached the results officials twice regarding Joseline. Datuk said, “The first one was to verify Joseline’s target position. We protested the second time because Joseline felt that she did not deserve a zero point. But the scoring chart showed that she had indeed missed the mark,” said Musa.
The team returned home with six silver and five bronze medals for their effort marking the first time in 20 years Malaysia failed to win gold.
