Dato Michelle Yeoh is well known for performing her own stunts in action films as well as her fight scenes, and seems to have the physique to show for it, with not bad arms and delts for the Hollywood crowd.
A former ballet student and Miss Malaysia beauty queen she starred in numerous Asian flicks, and played ‘Wai Lin’ in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies and also starred in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. In 2008, the top film critic website Rotten Tomatoes ranked her the greatest action heroine of all time.
It’s hasn’t all been an easy ride for one of the highest paid female actresses in Asia – during filming of some of her action films in Asia she has dislocated her shoulder, dislocated her elbow, got burned, had a cracked rib, got kicked so hard that an artery in her leg was ruptured and spent weeks in hospital.
Despite all that, she says she enjoys doing her own stunts for the ‘challenge’.
