Lindsey Vonn who had been labeled the ‘American golden girl’ by the New York Times, found her way off course again. After she seeks medical attention she will determine if she will continue this week in the slalom.

“My body is okay, I’m just frustrated and disappointed in myself. I’m going to see how I feel tomorrow and make a call on the slalom. I went a little bit too inside, lost the outside ski and was tangled up in the fence before I could really think about it,” Lindsey said.

Julia Mancuso, the defending Olympic champion and Lindsey’s team mate, was next out of the start. But her was stopped. She was allowed a re-start, but by then her concentration was lost and her run left her well outside the top 10. She left the finish in tears, no doubt for the off track performance and the loss of medal contention.

“I know she’s disappointed, I feel terrible that I crashed,” said Lindsey. “I don’t want to crash anyway but to hurt my team mate’s chances of getting a medal…I hope she understands and has a good second run.”
