Since I took a look at the New First Lady’s workout habits, thought I should take a look at the outgoing First Lady. Her husband isn’t exactly the most popular guy in the world [to put it mildly], so it’s safe to say the outgoing First Lady is the more popular of the twosome.
Mrs. Bush maintained a schedule of working out about three days a week, as well as morning cardio. In an interview, Mrs. Bush said she lifted weights and performed cardio on the elliptical. Some days she started with a 45 minute walk, usually around the oval on the South Lawn of the White House.
Her sister-in-law lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and many times she drove in to work out with her at the gym in the White House, and sometimes she trained with her husband which I won’t make any rude comments about. Not exactly heading into powerlifting, she used 3-5lbs dumbells.

Mrs. Bush also was focused on health and fitness outside of the White House, traveling the country speaking about two important health issues; women’s heart health and childhood obesity.
