Jaylene Bonson may only be 16-years-old, but she is already a big deal for Australia’s women’s sports. She is a star both locally and internationally for basketball and touch football. She is already slated to play basketball on the national under-17 squad and touch for the Australian under-18 women’s side in the 2011 World Youth Championships.
Even with so much attention to her athletic career, she doesn’t let the pressure mess with her head. “I do it because I love it,” Jaylene said. “I don’t go out to play thinking that if I do well I will play for Australia. I just play as best I can every time for my team.” It will be interesting how long she can juggle excelling at two very different sports, but I think she will have a good time trying!
