Via an Australian site, the 2009 New Zealand Pro Figure show has been cancelled. This still leaves twelve shows for 2009 in figure, with seven for fitness and five for female bodybuilding a disparity I blogged about prior.
That would have been the only internationally located pro figure show for 2009 – and also the first ever IFBB pro figure contest not held in North America.
I am aware of pro shows in Canada, but can’t seem to think of any IFBB pro figure shows that have been held in Oceania, Asia or Europe? [Please anyone correct me if I am wrong]. Excuse me as I digress, but many assume the IFBB is completely dominant worldwide, when actually NABBA is immensly popular through some parts of the world especially some European, Oceanic and South American nations. The NABBA figure competitors have a much harder look and do open handed poses onstage, comparisons below:
