The most fragile of a series of delicate machines thus far. So much before us is both terrifyingly and beautifully fragile. The construction of such machines is a wonderful challenge and asks me to be aware of everything, and especially my breathing. The cat whiskers were found by my upstairs neighbor and sat on my desk for months before they found their home.
This video is from a series of kinetic sculpture (dreaming machines) videos on Youtube. The artist creates working machines, either powered by hand or by electric motor. Their functions are questionable at best, but they are really really cool to watch. Transfer of kinetic energy for aesthetic purposes…sounds vaguely familiar. Better go hit the gym and do some research.
