Erin Toughill, who stands at 5’11” and walks around at 175 lbs, has just signed a long term contract with Strikeforce. She is training to fight at 145 lbs to prove that Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos is nothing but a stepping stone to establish she is the top contender in MMA. She has over come the stigma attached to women fighters to the point that her male counterparts have begun to seek her out to train. She is just that hard core.
“I’ve been training a long time. I still have things to work on,” Erin said. “I definitely give these guys a run for their money. I hit very hard. Ray [Sefo] is one of my coaches and he says ‘oh my god, you hit harder than 80-percent of the guys in here.'”
Erin is hopeful to have a ‘warm-up’ fight in the spring and then take on Cyborg in the fall. As a more technical and bigger fighter, Erin is confident Cyborg’s reign is coming to an end.
