In a little over 24 hours, Joe Weider, along with his crack staff at Flex, will be holding the Flex Magazine Bikini Model Search at the Olympia Weekend. Model after model will parade the stage in full T&A mode. The winner will be featured in the pages of Flex, and will receive 2 VIP tickets to the 2010 Olympia Weekend. What a deal!

Between Pro Bikini and the Flex Model search craze, which is online as well (you can win $250!), one has to wonder where the sport of female bodybuilding is heading.
Yes, sex sells. We all get that. But we don’t see the LPGA Tour turning its sport into a booty parade just because ratings are down. And you won’t see the sport of women’s curling adding a busty class anytime soon.
Why? Because it’s demeaning, pointless, and completely inappropriate. Unless, of course, you run a corrupt bodybuilding federation that’s in bed with a print magazine empire and the supplement industry.
More ass on stage equals more ass in the magazines equals more magazine sales equals more supplement sales. You do the math.
Am I over-reacting? Or do we see a future where the Pro Bikini class takes over the IFBB? For Joe Weider, Flex, and the IFBB, flexing ass means extra cash.
Don’t expect the T&A parades to go away any time soon.
