“I grew up in a tiny village in East Germany. My father was a sports teacher at the local school and I took my first steps on the field. In elementary school I trained under his guidance, and participated successfully in track & field competitions. My exceptionally good genetic potential was obvious, and so since middle school I trained four times a week. I specialized in javelin and discus throw. During my high school time, I played basketball, and so almost every weekend I have been on the road and traveled the whole country either as a player or later as a referee.” MORE
