I have a very athletic background. I went to Simon Fraser University for four years on a wrestling scholarship where I became the alternate for the 2008 Beijiing Olympics. During that and after for a total of nine years I was a wildland fire fighter for the Province of BC which kept me very active until I decided to switch careers into the health field and pursue nursing. In Nov of 2011 I moved back down to Kelowna where my family lives where I was accepted into Nursing school. I continued with my love for the gym and attended there regularly where I met my girlfriend who was the one who encouraged me right from the start to make a transition into the competitive bodybuilding world. 2013 Was my first year competing. I took part in three competitions of which the first was in May in Kelowna where I did not do so well as the judges thought my frame was more suited for bodybuilding instead of physique. Physique is where my heart lies and I enjoyed the challenge of making improvements so that I could go into provincials and wow the judges at the changes I had made to my physique. I was very pleased with third place victory where I qualified to attend nationals 8 weeks later. Again, I made improvements and continued to push my physique and came out with another third place victory that I was incredibly pleased with.
I have to thank the judges for all their feedback; I encourage everyone who competes to ask and be open to feedback. It only makes you a better person to realize and recognize your flaws so that you can work on them to better yourself.
